NOTE: The standard web interface of PowerFolder Pro supports only one user. The upcoming server version will include multi-user management.

After applying the web interface gets started and can be accessed via web browser. There is a link in the settings dialog to directly open the web interface in the web browser.

Test the web interface under: http://localhost

Web access

In general the web interface can be accessed under: http://<hostname>. e.g. http://myserver.organisation.com, http://servermachinename, http://mycomputer.dyndns.org

Setup of folders

  • Login to the web interface via browser.
  • Navigate to the "Create new Folder" form (right-bottom side).
  • Choose a name for the new folder, e.g. "User XYZ-Outlook files"
  • Press the "New" button
  • The folder now shows up in the "My PowerFolders" list.

To change the local directory of the PowerFolder on systems not running the graphical user interface (e.g. Linux) please edit the PowerFolder configuration file.

Inviting computers/users

To synchronize other computers/users with the new folder:

  • Download the invitation file from the web interface of the freshly created folder
  • Transfer the file to the destination user/computer, e.g. by email.
  • Open the invitation file with PowerFolder on the destination and setup the PowerFolder locally.

The computer now syncs with the computer running the web interface.
