Preface
This guide explains how to install and use the PowerFolder admin console to maintain the user accounts of a PowerFolder server.
Accessing
After finishing the installation of PowerFolder Server the admin console is available via web browser at: http://localhost:8080 or http://youhostname:8080
After logging in with the administration account click on "Admin" in the top menu to reach the dashboard.
Dashboard
The dashboard gives an overview of the most important information of the server and allows to quickly reach the most important administration features.
- Create a new user account.
- Search for existing accounts: Enter the keywords in the search field and press enter.
- General server overview information.
- Harddrive usage on server (as Piechart).
- Message Display (for errors /warnings and tips).
Account overview page
The account table quickly gives an overview of existing accounts.
- Add new user.
- Download CSV: A CSV file with all displayed accounts and their basic stats.
- Searchfield: Search for existing users by username/emai.
- Username: if its an email address click on it to send an email to the user.
- Last login: indicates when the user last time successfully logged in.
- Storage total: displays how much space the user can use as a maximum.
- Storage used: displays how much space the user is actually using, if total < used the account gets disabled.
- Storage valid till: indicates when the storage for the account expires.
- Folders: shows how many folders the user has in total, on the server and on the client. Click on the number to edit permissions or add a folder.
- Edit: click to edit this specific user.
- Delete: !CARE! This removes this account, removes all permissions, licenses, everything except the files, which will be removed on next cleanup.
Add/Edit account page
This page allows you to create an new user or edit an existing one.
- Main: Edit basic data of the account.
- Folder: Edit folder/permissions of the account.
- Save: Saves all changes.
- Delete: delete this Account!! CARE this means in most cases that the user will not be able to use the software at all!!
- Cancel: Discards all changes and returns to account overview page.
- Username: username for this account in most cases the users Email is recommended to be used here.
- Password: enter the password for this account, keep in mind a strong password always contains letters, numbers and special characters (ยง$%&!).
- Server: assign this account to a special server (only works if you have multiple servers linked to a cloud/cluster).
- Storage size: Define how much storage space this user is allowed to use (9999 equals unlimited). It is possible to set a default value for this under preferences.
- Storage expires: Define when the storage ends. It is possible to set a default value, which indicates after how many days the storage expires.
- Licenses: Select/add/remove licenses. This allows you to assign a certain license to this account and also set the value on how many computers the user can install PowerFolder(for example load a 5 computer license and the user can use PowerFolder on up to 5 computers).

Add/Edit folder permission
This page allows to centrally manage the folders an user has access to. It is possible to give different access levels.
- Search: for existing folder or create an new one. It's important to understand that if a folder is selected from the drop down list, the user will get access to an existing folder. Typing in a name and hit enter/click add will create a new folder.
- Foldername: simply the name of a folder. Folders can have the same name but still be different folders. For the case a bulk setup/client configuration is needed, this can be done by a configuration file.
- Sync: displays how much data of the Folder is synced with the server, ab empty value means that this folder is not stored on the server and only directly shared between clients.
- Files: Shows how many files the server holds in this folder.
- Size: Shows how much data this folder occupies on the server.
- Permission: Allows to control how this user can handle the data and what rights he has on this folder. Read more...
