Cloud Space
Cloud space is an optional service that allows PowerFolder users to backup and sync their data online. PowerFolder does not require cloud space to run, but it brings several advantages using it.

How to buy?
PowerFolder comes with different packages of cloud space. Packages can be booked online - easy and secure:

Is the cloud space secure?
Yes. Data protection is our highest goal. All data is redundantly and encrypted stored in our datacenters. It can can only be accessed via encrypted web access (HTTPS/SSL). All up- or downloads via PowerFolder client are encrypted as well. In addition our security partner McAfee scans our datacenter and all our online services on a daily basis to check for security vulnerability. This ensures, that your data is never exposed to anyone.
File versions in the cloud
You can change the number of old file versions, that should be kept in the cloud. This settings can be change on the settings of the folder within the web interface. Please keep in mind the more file versions you keep the more space is required, but you can always clean the file archive for each folder on the server.
Does PowerFolder require to store files in the cloud?
No. Unlike other solutions PowerFolder does not need any cloud space to work. The data can be transferred directly between the clients without limitations. Especially as a company you might be not interested to store your data somewhere else, than on your own servers. With PowerFolder you can do so. You can use PowerFolder directly in your closed VPN or LAN (LAN-Only networking mode). Non the less the cloud space is a secure alternative and allows you remote access (to the files stored in the cloud) to your files when you are not at home and your computers are offline.
Cloud space via PowerFolder client
The fastest and most common way to access your cloud data is the PowerFolder Client. You can upload and download complete folders or single files. The client is easy to install and be used on Windows, MAC and Linux.
Cloud space via webbrowser
If you don't want to install PowerFolder but still access your files from some remote computer, you just need to go to: https://www.powerfolder.com/login.html and login. There you can browse your files and download them if you need. Also you can upload single files.
Remove a folder from the cloud
To remove a folder from the cloud please login to your account. Select the folder from the list, press settings, and press the remove button.
Change the settings of the cloud space
You can change the way the cloud behaves by changing its transfer mode. So you can control if it is working as a mirror or a backup of your data. To do so, login to your account, select the folder you want to modify and choose the settings panel. By default all data will be downloaded from your clients and kept available.
