From PowerFolder Wiki

To open PowerFolder in console mode perform the following steps:

• Download the latest zip file distribution and extract it.
• Start PowerFolder with the the following command line options:(required) --server

(optional) --dns <your host, dns or ip> --nick <the nickname of your server> example: java -jar PowerFolder.jar --server --dns mypfserver.org --nick myserver Also try --help to get more information about command line options. Start and Shutdown scripts for Linux are included in the ZIP file distribution under /linux-scripts
