Preface
The PowerFolder credit system is a pre-paid system for client licenses. It helps to easily retrieve and distribute new PowerFolder client licenses by automating the license key generation and assignment to user accounts. This avoids to manually purchase and upload licenses for every user.
- Regular licenses allow to sync, share and backup unlimited amount of data
- Infinite 2 GB trial licenses are available with the E-Commerce module. These clients do NOT include any support.
Requirements
- Purchased at least one credit.
- Installed and running PowerFolder Server
- Correct connection setup in the Server admin console / Preferences / Licenses.
Components
The credit system consists of the following parts:
- A web service running at PowerFolder.com to convert credits and retrieve the licenses.
- Credits on your PowerFolder user account. Purchase credits.
- A retrieving side, usually your own PowerFolder Server.
Generate new license from credits
The following events trigger the generation of a new license:
- When a new user activates the client app on a new computer.
- In the account administration of the Server admin console.
More information
- Infinite 2 GB trial licenses can be obtain with the E-Commerce module - no credits will be charged.
- Available credits and retrieved licenses can be viewed at PowerFolder.com under My Account
- Generated license files are placed in the Server maintenance folder.
- Credits do not expire like licenses.
- 1 micro credit will be converted into a monthly single computer PowerFolder Pro client licenses.
- Credits cannot be directly used to activate a client. It must be converted into a real license first.
- Credits cannot be refunded.
