Conflict handling

Use mass delete protection

If this checkbox is checked, PowerFolder will guard against distributing or reacting to mass delete instructions to/from other members.

If a folder is accidentally deleted on on compute, there is a risk that this 'accident' will be proliferated amongst other members. With mass delete protection, PowerFolder prevents the spread of such deletions.

This checkbox works in conjunction with the Mass delete threshold slider.

If PowerFolder detects that more than the threshold percentage of files have been deleted locally in one go, a warning will be displayed in the status tab of the main window. If the deletion is intentional and the warning is accepted, the deletions will be distributed to other members.

If PowerFolder detects that more than the threshold percentage of files have been deleted in one go on another computer, the folder will be immediately put into non-delete mode to protect the local files, and a warning will be displayed in the status tab of the main frame.

Default archive mode

PowerFolder can maintain a version history of file that have been downloaded from other computers. Version history can be configured as:

  • None
  • 1 version
  • 5 versions
  • 25 versions
  • 100 versions
  • Unlimited

PowerFolder can also cleanup archive versions based on age. Cleanup options are:

  • 1 day
  • 1 week
  • 1 month
  • 1 year
  • Never

PowerFolder will cleanup old archive files shortly after startup and just after midnight. Cleanup can also be activated by clicking the Cleanup button.

Warn if folders are not in sync

If this checkbox is checked, a warning will be displayed against the folder in the Folders tab of the main window, if the folder has not been synchronized with another computer within a number of days set by the Warning day(s) slider.
