File Archive
From PowerFolder Wiki
PowerFolder version 4.0 introduces the concept of file archiving / history. PowerFolder can be configured to keep historic files before they are updated with downloaded versions or deleted. These archived versions can then be restored at a later date if required. Files can therefore protected against unexpected change. By default PowerFolder keeps 5 file versions.

Configuration
File archiving can be configured in the folder's Settings tab. The 'File archive (local)' dropdown list contains a number of options ranging from no archiving to unlimited. The default is to maintain an archive of the most recent five versions of a file.
Restoring Files
Archives can be accessed through the folder's Files tab. This tab contains a Details button that displays File Details and File Versions tabs. The File Versions tab displays a table of the available archived versions of the file that is selected in the main files table. When a file version row is selected, the Restore button is enabled, which allows that file version to be restored either to its original location or to an arbitrary destination.
Default
The default archive mode for new folders can be configured in the General tab of the Preferences dialog. Any new folders created or joined will then default to that value.
Restoring Multiple Deleted/Older Files
Where a number of files have been deleted, they can easily be restored in bulk. Deleted files can be displayed by selecting 'Deleted and recycled files' from the list box in the files tab. Multiple files can then be selected from the table by holding down the control key. Right click on the selected files and select the Restore option. This will open a wizard panel that allows you to select and restore either the latest version of the files or versions for a particular day.
TIP: Check 'Flat view' filter to view all files of all subfolders in one single list.
