Encrypted Transfers

From PowerFolder Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

PowerFolder Pro has three levels of encryption. These can be changed by opening preferences, then selecting the "Pro Settings" tab, and finally double clicking "Encrypted Transfers."

  • In "Maximum," all transfers are encrypted. If a non-encrypted computer tries to connect to yours, the connection will be dropped.
  • In "High," all transfers over the internet will be encrypted. PowerFolder will still be able to communicate with other machines on your LAN without encryption.
  • Finally, in "Low," PowerFolder will communicate with any other machine regardless of encryption. Connections may still be encrypted, but it is not a requirement.

Please note, PowerFolder must be in the "Low" setting to communicate with PowerFolder Basic.
