PowerFolder offers various ways to improve the speed of your data exchange and reduce the bandwidth usage on your network:

• At first all data transfers over the Internet are compressed by ZIP, also this is possible for LAN connections,this is especially useful for VPN connection over the Internet.

• PowerFolder also transfers only the changed parts of a file, if it is updated. Dependent on the file format of the transfered file this can save up to 90% of the traffic.

• Powerfolder also supports Multi-source downloads to speed up your connection especially in bigger networks.

• With correctly configured firewalls and routers PowerFolder can transfer the data directly between your clients. This means that no bandwidth is wasted or limited by connections to our servers, and even without configuration can be send over your LAN network. Most other applications need to send you data over the Internet even if you are just exchanging data within your local network.
