Direct connection between clients

PowerFolder Pro is based on encrypted peer-to-peer technology. This allows you to exchange your data in your own network without a central server or service provider. This works via Internet, LAN or via VPN.
If you configure your routers and firewalls you can directly exchange data between your clients over the Internet.
This has major advantages:
- Your data is not stored somewhere on the Internet.
- You don't waste bandwidth to send data to a server on the other end of the world.
- File transfers in LAN are at LAN speed. No upload/download to a Internet server is required.
- You can use PowerFolder via VPN.
- There is no single point of failure. PowerFolder works even if our servers are unreachable.
If you do not configure your routers and firewalls PowerFolder will establish an relayed connection or HTTP tunneled connection over our servers, but you might have a slower connection.
