PowerFolder keeps your files up to date. It does not matter if you want to keep your Desktop in sync with your Laptop or mirror your own documents. PowerFolder takes your data where you need it.

PowerFolder uses delta sync so a big file which was already transferred gets updated much faster, because only the changed parts are send. This makes PowerFolder highly effective as a synchronization program, you only use the time and the bandwidth you really need.

If you want to send files to a customer, a colleague or to a friend PowerFolder securely (PowerFolder Pro) and easily transfers these files for you. Not longer struggle with too large email attachments.

Automatic or scheduled backup

You want to make an Backup of your work every second/ every minute /every day/ every Saturday/on working days or every 21 seconds. You decide when the backup is created. With delta sync you can create the Backups even more effective, because only the changed parts get transferred.

Automatic change detection

PowerFolder is able to automatically detect changes in your directories. If your data changes PowerFolder will detect and transfer this changed data to all other computers.

If your system is able to run Java, it is also able to run PowerFolder. This gives you the possibility to synchronize folders between Windows, Mac and Linux.

Highly configurable: synchronization profiles

You can choose from various synchronization profiles to control how your PowerFolders get synchronized, e.g. Mirror data between computers. Read more about the synchronization profiles to find out what profile is the best meets your needs.

A profile can be selected for each PowerFolder. They control how and when the synchronization process happen.

Network

Works over Internet, LAN or in Intranets

PowerFolder automatically detects other computers in LAN. On the Internet PowerFolder uses peer-to-peer technology to discover users/computers you exchange files with.

With it's built in authentication mechanism PowerFolder ensures that your data is kept private. PowerFolder NEVER transfers files to anyone, who has not received an invitation file containing a unique secrect access key (1024 bit).

But PowerFolder Basic does NOT encrypt the actual file transfers. Maximum security is provided by PowerFolder Pro.

Delta-transfer copies only the changed file parts

PowerFolder is reliable and fast through delta-transfer technology similar to rsync. Only changed parts of the files get transferred instead of the whole file. This saves a lot time and traffic.

In addition multiple checksums are built to ensure that the files reach the destination in the original state.

Private peer-to-peer networking

PowerFolder connects to other users over an independent peer-to-peer network. No connection to central server or service is required!

The grant access to your managed folder simply send an invitation file to another user. This file contains a unique secret access key to ensure that you data is kept private.

PowerFolder Pro extensions

Maximum security: Encrypted transfers

Encryption (AES) and identity management (RSA) are the security features of PowerFolder Pro.

This offers a maximum protection from unauthorized access to your data (similar to SSL). When transferring data over the internet this is highly recommended.

Identity management with public/private key mechanism (RSA) provides a secure mutal identification of you and your friends.

Of course you can always setup PowerFolder Pro to communicate with our Basic version!

PowerFolder Pro comes with 5 GB Online Storage space for one year.

This optional service makes your valuable data always available and backed up. Simply point to our web login to access your data via web browser.

High Priority Support

PowerFolder Pro users get support with highest priority: As soon as you get in contact we will help you to solve your problem in a fast, efficient and personal way.

No limitations

The Pro version of PowerFolder removes all limitations in size and number of managed folders. You get free updates for PowerFolder Pro for one year. After that time you can run the program as long as you like - even if you don't extend the update service.

Alway connect through web tunnel

PowerFolder Pro can even transfer files when only web access is possible. E.g. in highly firewalled networks inside a company.

It follows the simple rule:
Web-access possible - PowerFolder possible.

HTTP-Proxies with authentication are also supported.

Silently runs as system service

This feature enables PowerFolder Pro to run as windows system service. PowerFolder Pro then silently runs in background.

Very useful when using PowerFolder as file server, e.g. in combination with the mini webserver or if you want to hide the user inferface.

You don't longer need to install PowerFolder to access your date on a remote computer. The access is provided by a mini-built-in webserver.

Filelist CSV writer

The CSV writer creates a CSV file listing the files of a PowerFolder sorted by last modification date.

Easily discover new or changed files without using the PowerFolder user interface (e.g. running as system service).
