Monday 06. of July 2009 PowerFolder 3.1.9 released

Greetings!

Today we like to announce the release of PowerFolder 3.1.9. It comes with many handy new features for rolling out and maintaining many clients. It also includes some minor bugfixes.

The changes in detail:

New features and improvements

Added option to automatically update system service when a new version of PowerFolder is available.

Bugfixes

Delta-sync hashing does not longer timeout after three minutes.

1.) PowerFolder Business, Server and branding products at 20% reduced prices for short time.

PowerFolder has launched its server version, and to give something back to all the beta testers and early adopters we now offer PowerFolder Pro Business, PowerFolder Server Mini (500GB), PowerFolder Server, PowerFolder cloud server and branding options at reduced prices (-20%) for those who want to extend their network. Of course all other users can take advantage of this offer also.

2.) PowerFolder Online Storage products with doubled size at same price.

Since we had so many subscribers to our optional Online storage service we were able to extend our server network, and with bigger size come better prices, which we hand over to our customers. The new Online Storage packages have now twice the size of the previous ones at the same price.

3.)Powerfolder servers hosted?

We are currently strongly thinking about offering our server version as a hosted solution, this would allow you to run your own branded server on our server network, of course maintained by our professional admin team. This would allow you, to focus on the core of your business, while we are taking care of the technical side. If you think this is a good solution for you, please contact us. As mentioned above this is not a product which already exists, but can be brought into the market within a few days, if we see that it is requested.

It's now possible to easily SHARE your files with friends, family or business parters via web browser:

Create a online backup of the files you want to share (if not already done).
Send an invitation to the receiver by email. Either via client or web interface (Tab Members / Invite).

The invitees receive a email about how to access the files via web browser! He can download and/or open the files in browser with the built-in web media player (supported media: music, photos and video).

Hello Everyone!

Today we are really proud to announce two new software releases:

1) Version 3.1.8 of the PowerFolder Pro client is available to download. It contains many important bugfixes and some nice improvements (changelog).

2) Our new product PowerFolder Server reached version 1.0!

This new product adds great new features for companies that already use PowerFolder. Service Provides and Resellers can now run their own branded Online Backup solution. The PowerFolder client is also fully brandable.

Tuesday 24. of March 2009 PowerFolder client version 3.1.7 released

Dear PowerFolder Users,

Today it's time for a new client version release (v 3.1.7).

As usual PowerFolder automatically detects the update and asks to download and install it. Alternatively you can check for an update under About/Check for update or directly download the 3.1.7 client version.

Version 3.1.7 comes with the following changes:

New features and improvements

Added support for separate peer-to-peer networks.
Simplified connection setup to custom server.
Does not longer initially loads nodes file from PowerFolder website for Internet use.
Added support for direct UDT high speed connections.
Added low level network tuning options.
Several minor improvements.

Bugfixes

Fixes auto start problem, that caused PowerFolder to start twice.
Fixed bug that caused invitation files failed to get opened.
Fixed stuck uploads/downloads problem.
Several minor bugfixes.
