Friday 07. of November 2008 PowerFolder 3.1.3 released
Dear Users,
We would like to inform you that we just released PowerFolder 3.1.3, which comes with the following improvements and bug fixes:
Enhancements:
- Passwords get now encrypted stored if "Remind password" is checked.
- The Activation wizard not longer pops up every 5 seconds.
- Several other minor improvements.
Bugfixes:
- Fixes incomplete sync/transfer errors in some rare cases.
- Fixed Webinterface folder join functionality.
- Mac/Linux: Unmounted devices not get correctly detected.
- Several other minor bugfixs.
Other changes:
- Added check for fair use policy during trial period:
During the 30 days trial period PowerFolder Pro limits the total amount of
managed data to a fair use of 10 GB and 3 managed PowerFolders
(The number sub-directories is not limited).
The full version of PowerFolder Pro does not limit the total amount of managed data or the number of managed PowerFolders.

Saturday 04. of October 2008 New flexible pricing for business customers
Business customers can now choose the package of PowerFolder products and services, that fit best for their needs.
We now offer the flexibility to choose:
- The license validity: 1 year, 2 years or perpetual
- Online Storage from 10 to 250 GB. Or even use PowerFolder without Online Storage at all.
For example a PowerFolder Pro Business 5 computer license costs now $123.00 for one year*.
Or the yearly rate for a 20 seats license with 50 GB Online Storage is priced $763.50. Thats less than $3.20/month per seat*!
Pricing information
Observers might also have recognized, that we now offer the perpetual license for the price of the former yearly rate.
In a few days we will also add new payment methods.
* Billing is annual. Introduction price, valid only when purchasing before 31.11.2008.
Monday 15. of September 2008 PowerFolder 3.1.2 released
Dear PowerFolder users,
A new version of PowerFolder was just released.
I'll keep it short today, the changes in 3.1.2 are:
Enhancements:
- Folder database maintenance added to save memory
- Support for relative path in invitations
- Added warnings if target directory is not writable on folder setup
- Several other minor improvements
Bugfixes:
- Fixed several activation bugs
- Now gracefully handles folder scanner crash caused by low memory
- Several other minor bugfixes
The release is primary necessary to adapt the client to our new IT infrastructure. We are now capable to run geographically dispersed Online Storage servers farms.

Friday 05. of September 2008 Maintenance downtime (update)
UPDATE: On the weekend 12.9. till 14.9. we plan to upgrade our IT-Infrastructure.
Users of the Online Storage service might encounter downtimes of the web access and file upload/download to the Online Storage. Of course PowerFolder will continue to syncing computers via peer-to-peer technology during the maintenance phase.
We try to keep the downtime as short as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
Sunday 17. of August 2008 Activation problems solved
Some users encountered problems while activating PowerFolder Pro.
We have fixed several issues, that came up during the last week. Thanks to everyone who reported these problems:
- PowerFolder Pro customers, who have bought before the 12.07.2008, are able to activate PowerFolder Pro online now. Please use the email-address from your purchase mail. Lost or unknown passwords can be retrieved via this password recovery page.
- Everyone, who encountered problems during a new registration (e.g. "Email or password wrong?", "Multiple accounts found...."), should be able to correctly activate PowerFolder now. Please re-try the in-program activation.
- Users with an existing account, that has been registered before the 12.07.2008, now correctly retrieve a new trial license key during the in program activation.
