This weekend we will migrate parts of our infrastructure into our second datacenter. Some parts of the Online Storage systems may be not available during that time. We try to keep the impact on the live system as low as possible.

Monday 24. of May 2010 New version (4.2.5) fixes connection problems
Dear users,
we are sorry for the connection problems that some users experienced with the latest version of PowerFolder.
Today we released version 4.2.5 which should fix all connectivity issues.
The changes in detail:
New features
- Administrators with own PowerFolder Server can now disallow user to change the client settings. http://www.powerfolder.com/wiki/Server_configuration_file#Security_parameters
Improvements
- Simplified "New folder" setup wizard: Advanced setup options now hidden under "More options".
Bugfixes
- Fixed several connection problems.

Wednesday 19. of May 2010 Connection problems
Good day,
some users experience connectivity problems with the latest version (4.2.3) of PowerFolder. If you also encounter such a problem please try the following workarounds:
- Make sure all computers correctly log in with your email/password. Click on "Account" in the middle of the main window for a login prompt.
- Check your router and firewall. Make sure they allow PowerFolder to freely communicate (port 1337 TCP). Read more...
- Downgrade to the previous version of PowerFolder (4.1.3). No uninstall required. Download: Windows, Mac OS X
- Contact us and report your problem as detailed as possible. Which computers are you trying to connect? Debug logs help a lot

Wednesday 12. of May 2010 PowerFolder Version 4.2.3 released
Dear PowerFolder users,
we just released version 4.2.3 of PowerFolder!
The changes in detail:
New features
- Simplified usage and setup of PowerFolder: Less questions - better defaults. Removed option "Sync previously setup folder" from wizard. Now simply choose sync, backup, share to setup folders on all computers.
- Client now automatically switches to better license key if current one is no longer valid (expired or exceeded).
Improvements
- Cleaned up user interface: Removed boxes around folder and computers. Also simplified status / home window.
- Client configuration options can now be restricted to administrators only. This prevents accidental change of client settings by user. Useful when running PowerFolder in-house with own server: http://www.powerfolder.com/wiki/Server_Overview
- Added more placeholder / parameters to script execution after download: http://www.powerfolder.com/wiki/Script_execution
- Added several enhancements to client/server protocol to make it more robust against further changes.

- Eliminated a memory leak.
- Fixed problem when trying to sync, share or backup custom directories.

Friday 16. of April 2010 New Server version 1.7.0 released with LDAP connectivity and E-Commerce module
Dear PowerFolder community,
we are proud to announce the release of PowerFolder Server 1.7.0!
It comes with new and convenient features for businesses like LDAP / Active directory integration and a E-Commerce module for partners/resellers to easily and automatically sell PowerFolder to customers.

- Does not longer loose folder default permission under certain conditions.
- Frontend webinterface: Several corrections of the sub menu.
- Fixed login problem of clients in server cloud.
- Files containing special characters (e.g. +) in name now can be correctly downloaded.
- SMTP/Mail settings does not longer ignore username and password for authentication.
- Fixed bug that sometimes prevented backup from starting on new created folders.
- Fontend webinterface: Names in folder members list do not longer overlap.

Monday 22. of March 2010 Hotfix release 4.1.3 available
Greeting from PowerFolder!
PowerFolder update 4.1.3 is available for download now.
It basically fixes the file browser problem some users experienced while trying to add a custom directory to sync. It also include serveral other minor bugfixes.
