I was really excited about it until I discovered that syncing doesn't leverage a delta-transfer algorithm. Is it supposed to?

I've created a 500MB zip file and synced it to 2 computers using power folder. Then I added a 1KB file to the archive on computer A. When pulling the changes to computer B it sends the whole file (500.1MB) across the network - instead of just 10KB. Is this expected? Have I setup something wrong?

Thanks,
Dane

The problem with archive and specially compressed files is that compressing is changing the complette file or much bigger parts. For exaple a uncompressed .tiff file will be much more efficent in delta sync than a .jpg file.

Also please not that PowerFolder in the download list is displaying the full size of the file the only way to see if delta sync is used or not is when the download speed goes into extreme hights. And Delta sync is disabled in LAN since it often make snot much sense to use it at lan speed espcially for smaller files. You can enable it under preferences/advanced if you like.
