Hi! PF looks like a very interesting product and I might be able to use it. Let me describe my situation and ask for some input...

I presently have a desktop computer with 1TB of data storage (not including the OS/APPS) on it. I also have a NAS drive setup with 1TB of data storage as well. I connect to the NAS drive via a mapped drive in Windows (take your pick of the flavor) and everything works fine.

I would like to sync my local data drive (D:) with my NAS drive (say S:). Whenever either is changed I would like the other to automatically be updated. Can PF accomplish this for me?

I will add that I did download the 3.1.10 version and install it. I am able to sync files between two desktops but unable to add the NAS drive as a PF folder (PF doesn't recognize the drive letter) but Windows does. If I try to right click on the drive and say Add to PowerFolder it adds it but says the drive is invalid (looks something like S:\") but I can't remove the "

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Dear eddevaney
In general this is possible but it is not really recommended since it requires some work in detail to setup an PowerFolde rin the current version is not really created for this useacse but here is what you need to do to make it work:

The behaviour with the nas and the not writing message is simply some disfunction of vista and other windows systems related with the read/write rights:

Interesting. I could handle running two PF on the same workstation if it worked. I guess my real problem is my machine not being able to see the NAS mapped drive (S:) in this case (but Windows can see the mapped drive).

In general does PF work with mapped drives or do they have to be local drives?

Also, if PF will not handle this does anyone know of a product that will synchronize a mapped drive folder to a local drive folder (or drive letters)?

Thanks,
Ed

Could you tell me which windows version you use?
You might try to switch to classic directory chooser (preferences/general/classic directory chooser).
