Hi.

My brother and I are looking into PowerFolder to backup each others data. What we have tested and got working is he being a backup source and me being backup target. Everythings seems to be working just fine, but we have one "problem" we haven't been able to figure out. If one file is deleted on the target folder, the file is not resent from the source. Is there a setting to make this possible? Or for our scenario, is not the backup source/target the correct transfer modes?

Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.

Dear orgabeke
If you want to get your data back simply change your sync profile from backup source to automatic sync or automatic download.

Afterwards the deleted files should be returned to your computer.
Pleas also note: email support is in almost every case faster.
Sorry we made you wait.

Rutkowsky,

Thanks for your reply. Won't changing the transfer mode to automatic delete the file at the source instead of re-adding it? Do both have to change profile or just one? If this method works it requires that one notices that a file is deleted at the target (most likely one will, but...). It would be nice if the backup source would resend a file if it was deleted at the target.

What would be perfect for our situation is to set up a source and a target. The target will always mirror what is at the source. If the source deletes, adds or modifies files the changes will be sent to the target, but if the target does the same the file will either be resent (when deleted/changed at target) or deleted (when added at target) depending on what should be the proper action. It this is possible Powerfolder will be perfect for us. If not it is almost perfect. :)

I'm in no hurry, but if you prefer I can continue this discussion via e-mail. Let me know.
