Hi all,
I was wondering how good PowerFolder is at speeding up syncing of compressed files. From what I gather, rsync is ineffective with compressed files; does PowerFolder also suffer from this? Thanks.
Dear Akamad this totally depends on the file.
PowerFolder will transfer the changed parts of a file.
But if the compression is spreading the information all over the file there has to transferred a lot. But beside that there should be no lag of speed.
But PowerFolder can boost transfers also by getting them from multiple sources(which have the completed file).
Please use our trial version to test it with your files. Because every statement i can make here would be a little speculative.
Sorry that i cannot give you a more precise information.
