View Full Version : Closed Picking up after a partial sync

Hi.
I began sync with Online Storage yesterday. Since it is the first sync with your server, I understand that it will take a while to upload my files (just over 4 GB).

PF had sync'd 70% of the files when I needed to shut down the computer.

This morning, when I boot up, PF shows the "spinning dot" and *says* it's syncing, but in fact the "uploads" screen shows 10 active updates, 9 of which are queued, but the screen has been static for an extended time; while my pc reports that the sync is in progress, nothing appears to actually be happening.

Was it a mistake to break off the initial sync yesterday?
Can PF pick up from where it left off?
Do I have to start over again?

Please give me some direction.

Thanks!

Hi
the spinning dot does not mean automaticlly that you are syncing.
it means that there is acitvity on this folder. how long did you let it
run while no transfer took place? If the file is big it can last some time to scan it.
But normally it should work quite fast. What you could try is to remove the file which is blocking the transfer. And add it again to the Folder. Perhaps you can try diasable the Delta sync.

I will try to reproduce that behaviour.

Could you do us a big favour and send us your log files?
You need to enable the logfiles first:
Under Settings/advanced/enable debug logging.
Later you will be able to find the log files in your
Powerfolder installation path.
it would be extremely helpful if you could enable debug
logging/restart powerfolder/reproduce the problem/quit
powerfolder and send us the powerfolder.log to Support(at)Powerfolder.com

Hi.

I've sent the log files in an email.

Further questions: Both times when I've started this process, PF begins by sending thousands of files to the Recycle Bin; and the files are not readily available in my directory structure. Is this supposed to happen? Once the sync completes, will the files re-appear in their proper directories?
